AFIO members play roles of leadership and distinction, dedicated to the principles and objectives of US Intelligence goals for the benefit of our country. They currently serve, or have served, in the CIA, NSA, FBI, DIA, DNI, DHS, Military Services or Law Enforcement at Federal, State or Local levels. Are you such an individual?

For those who did not actively serve in the intelligence field, but are currently working in corporations or in a wide variety of private professions, or those in the general public who are strong advocates of a rigorous US Intelligence Community, membership is available with sponsorship by a current AFIO member. Current or former intelligence officials and intelligence-focused reporters, academicians, researchers and members of the general public, who are citizens of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, may join AFIO as “UKUSA” members. Those who do not fall into any of these categories, or who wish to refrain from formal membership, may instead subscribe to AFIO publications.

Driven by Volunteers

Aside from a small professional staff, the AFIO organization, including its local chapters, is managed by volunteers who generously donate their time, talents and funds to the cause of furthering AFIO’s educational objectives. AFIO provides like-minded individuals a fellowship of professional colleagues and supporters to discuss issues, new directions and opportunities in the intelligence community.

To achieve AFIO’s mission, our members utilize a wide range of programs and initiatives from a national level outwardly through our base of local chapter members. These include:

• Academic Support and Outreach
